LEARNAKAN FLUENCY CLUB is an international community of motivated Twi learners who seek to improve their fluency levels by following a well-structured proficiency program, engaging in discussions, and practising among themselves what is learned.

Once you sign up and become a member, you will enjoy a fun, interactive learning experience with our month-to-month sets of structured courses. Each course level features weekly lesson sets made up of videos, texts, quizzes, assignments, downloadable PDF handouts, and MP3 files for offline learning, etc. And, you earn a certificate for each course level you complete to encourage you on. We have lessons on the very key aspects of the language, i.e. pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, speaking, and reading.

You will be able to update your profile page, add other members as friends, send them private messages, post to their timelines or tag them in your posts, join various discussion groups, post to the activity feed and check out other members’ posts, take lessons, attempt quizzes, track progress (be able to return to where you left off the last time), achieve points for your efforts, etc. all on this platform!

Members on the LFC CONNECT ($69) tier meet over the Zoom video conferencing program three times every week for live sessions. It’s an excellent opportunity to meet, interact, practise, and make friends with like-minded, motivated Twi learners from all over the world. The live meetings are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and each session lasts for an hour.

Each meeting day comes with a different activity.

  1. Tuesdays, 1 p.m. GMT – Group Speaking Practice

Each week comes with a speaking topic and task. On Tuesdays, members are taken through the speaking topics in a typical classroom format. We use a sample Twi conversation as case study to teach you the important aspects of the respective week’s speaking topic. Every now and then, the host, Tikya Yaw, engages random members in simple conversations, corrects what needs correcting, and answers member questions. Tuesdays’ sessions are intended to give members, irrespective of their proficiency levels, a speaking and listening foundation for onward practice.

  1. Wednesdays, 1 p.m. GMT – Private Member Speaking Practice

The hour-long Wednesday speaking practice sessions are divided into three sets of 20 minutes each. Members are paired randomly to practise the week’s topic in private breakout rooms. After every 20 minutes, you get reassigned to a different speaking partner. Depending on your speaking partner’s proficiency level, you’ll be jumping between previous speaking topics and the current one. This means by the end of each session, you would’ve practised with up to three different people, and possibly on more than a single speaking topic.

  1. Fridays, 1 p.m. GMT – Multimedia Friday

On Fridays, members on the LFC CONNECT ($69) tier get to put down the textbooks. We watch and discuss the dialogues in Twi movies and shows, listen to and discuss the contents of Twi news and radio interviews, and other such multimedia resources aimed at exposing you to as much natural spoken Twi as possible. You get to appreciate what you learn in actual day-to-day use, which should improve your listening and speaking skills. Multimedia Fridays are recorded so you don’t have to worry if you miss any.

The platform presents a unique opportunity to find study/practice partners for private practice sessions. The club is made up of different people, from different parts of the world, and with different proficiency levels. Members are encouraged to take advantage of this diverse community by building healthy relationships from the start, which will go on to foster easy private practice arrangements. Even if you’re on the $19 tier, you can still arrange to meet as many people as you want on a daily or weekly basis. Some current members already meet privately every week. It may surprise you how much you can learn from other members, irrespective of their levels of proficiency.

LFC is truly packed with all you need to make your learning enjoyable and fruitful.
